Diversity or disobedience

DIVERSITY OR DISOBEDIENCE

We don’t always know what direction our day will take us. Today as I enjoyed my coffee, I’m reminded of a recent conversation just after church service last Sunday. One of the participants we’ll call him Andrew raised the question. He said, ” I don’t know why someone has to leave the church simply because they have a disagreement with what is being preached or with what someone else within the congregation believes. He continued, “why can’t we simply agree that we have different opinions, (diversity) and leave it at that?” Instantly, my mind started racing. I didn’t really know this person very well, and I wasn’t sure that it was a good setting to dive into this question. Later in the day when this group of friends met again, person to person, I informed him that I’d like to take up his question again, but that I would not answer directly, instead I would raise another question. And, within that question would be my answer. I didn’t have the opportunity that evening to readdress the question. We simply enjoyed a great time together, including studying theology and fellowship.

This morning with my coffee, the Holy Spirit advised me that I needed to address Andrew’s question. The country within which we live is secular, and the world around us is secular. In spite of christian and other religions. I decided to reach out to the secular world… AI and ask a silly question. Is diversity mentioned in the Bible? Of course, what AI had to offer me was a plethora of misinformation on which I deeply disagree? What AI offered was that the word diversity does not appear in the Bible. However, AI continued to offer it’s support for diversity. Or rather, continued to provide false misinformation of God’s intentions among His people. AI offered multiple verses in which it misconstrued entirely the verse, AKA the words of our Lord God. One of the most twisted and contorted views that AI offered on God’s plan for diversity among His people was offered in the story of Babel. AI offered that, our God decided that there should be diversity among his people and so therefore, He awarded or blessed

them with languages in which they could not understand each other. I’ll stop and pause here, while you either gasp for air, laugh hysterically, or cry. Oh, how foolish you are secular world that you can twist, contort and misconstrue, not understanding the God’s words and the Lord’s desire for obedience among his people. IT WAS NOT A BLESSING! IT WAS GODS JUDGMENT ON A “PROUD” AND DISOBEDIENT PEOPLE. Could it be that this judgment continues perpetually, even unto this day, upon the disobedient and prideful in many forms including confusion, displacement, non inclusion, disease, poverty and lack of longevity? Forever, on the outside looking in because of their self pride and disobedience to God? Look around you, aids, HIV and the ever increasing prescription drugs offered in this secular world of disobedience. And let’s not forget the lessons of the corona virus. Remember to stay 6 feet apart, cover your mouth, don’t gather in large groups etc, etc. What was that all about if it were not for separation? A continuance of judgment on the proud and disobedient? The wealthy are becoming fat over the ignorance and confusion of the most disobedient of all peoples. It is the secular world that perpetuates it.

This judgment that I refer to is best know as and takes place at the “Tower of Babel” in the land of Shinar. Genesis 11:1-8 Theological significance: Shinar is often seen as a symbol of human pride and rebellion against God. The origin of languages. The scattering of people from Shinar is presented as the origin of diverse languages and cultures as a consequence of God’s judgment on a prideful people. Shinar represented a hostile Pagan power that opposed God’s people. Shinar is associated with the Babylonian exile. Shinar was associated with a region of luxury and sin. Shinar is described as a place where wickedness is sent to be established.

Does any of this sound like Gods’ blessing of diversity, or His desire for diversity among His people? No! Of course not! Gods desire is for conformity. Conformity to His will, to His peace, to His love, for His glory to thrive among his people. There is no blessing for diversity, and disobedience among a sinful people whom are NOT His. Instead judgment as mentioned above. The good news is in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Turn your head yet today to Jesus for total forgiveness of sin and enter into a life of perpetual and eternal belonging to our creator. A life of true luxury, true freedom, wisdom and knowledge to guide you through every challenge. A life that only can be received through faith in Jesus Christ, and obedience to God. And let’s be clear about this. Because you have faith in Christ does not give you a license to continue to sin, you must also be obedient to God. This will be obvious in your thoughts, actions and life choices. Matthew 7:15-23

About me: Believing in the oneness of God, in the context of the Holy Trinity of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and In Jesus Christ his only begotten Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirt, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and buried; the 3rd day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the father Almighty. Adapted from "Apostles Creed". I am a first generation American born in the USA into a family of European immigrants whom settled in America in 1951. After WW2, much of Europe was in a state of rubble. My parents traveled from Ukraine to Germany, then to France and back to Germany looking for work. There in West Germany, they were advised by American soldiers to travel to the USA in search of opportunities to raise their family. I was born the seventh sibling to this family. As a statement of my families faith, it was under these conditions my mother carried with her, her children and a bible in her native language, country to country, then finally to the Unites States of America. They spent 10 perilous days crossing the ocean aboard the cramped American transport ship, the USS General R.M. Blatchford. I attended school and graduated high school with some 250 other students. By my senior year, I had enough credits, that I was able to attend school half days, while also working half days at a local tool and die machine shop. I took to it rather quickly, and began training on the most recent CNC programmable equipment available. Within two years, I had been promoted to shop Forman responsible of all production. I attended and graduated from Goshen College supervision management courses. I married my teenage sweet heart at the age of 21 and we have two sons. They themselves are married, have children and lead productive lives. I was water baptized at the Assembly of God by Pastor Paul McGuichee. I under went spiritual baptism by the Holy Spirt that same day. I believe in the nature and true mission and spirit of the church. Through this we are enable with the true power of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 3:10 His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms. Through this we are enable with the true power of the Holy Spirit. I fully believe that the Holy Bible and it's scripture is the inspired word of God, and it therefor gives it's authority and role as the foundation for beliefs and practice. I invite the Holy Spirit into my life and subscribe to His work in holy baptism, regeneration, sanctification and continued work in empowering believers. Acts 2:38 I believe in salvation by grace alone. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9. I give testimony through the holy scripture as to the authenticity of Jesus Christ the Man, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.... His deity as the only begotten Son of God... His sinless life on earth... His atoning death, resurrection and ascension into heaven... Nicholas David Fedorow
